Aticco Lab

Aticco Barcelona, co-organizer with BizBarcelona 2020 set the Sustainable Development Goals for the show aimed at entrepreneurs. The first Biz meeting gave voice to three success stories of how to incorporate the SDGs into their business model: Tapp Water, Designable and Heura.

Undoubtedly, the SDGs represent a step forward in corporate responsibility, ethics and sustainability. It is also an opportunity to reach a consumer who is aligned with sustainable actions. Aticco and BizBarcelona 2020 have addressed the agenda set by the UN and that companies want to implement. Aleix Planas, director of Biz Barcelona, highlighted in particular four of the 17 SDGs proposed by the UN General Assembly, for their high impact on the economy: reducing inequality, innovation, industry and infrastructure. These SDGs require technological progress to achieve the environmental goals. Technology is an essential part of this.

For our part, from Aticco Coworking we have and continue to work in the line of sustainability. We provide, to the more than 3,000 coworkers of Aticco, sustainable facilities in terms of recycling, maintenance and technology. Making buildings increasingly sustainable is a priority objective to bring value to society.

Which SDGs does your company drive?

Including a Sustainable Development Goal in the company's mission becomes essential to generate a high impact on society and business. New consumers are looking to generate an action that is aligned with these goals set by the United Nations. Bernat Añaños, co-founder of Foods for Tomorrow, a vegan food brand; Andrés Perales, CEO of Designable, a manufacturer of sustainable buildings; and Rocío Alcocer, CEO of TappWater, a product that filters tap water, explained how businesses can promote their proposal with the SDGs.

The speaker, Bernat Añaños, explained that "it is possible to do activism from the company, in fact activism has to be professionalized in order to have a greater impact". And on the development of the start-up, "it has to improve along the way, but it can't always stop, because it stops competing with companies that commit 1001 more inconsistencies and don't want to change. Thus Aleix Planas, director of Biz Barcelona, stressed that "BforPlanet will focus the ODS on large companies and Biz Barcelona on the real economy, basically startups and SMEs that represent 90% of the country's productivity".

Everything points to the fact that the private sector will be compelled to bring the SDGs together to address the complex issues that are essential to achieving a sustainable future for them, their customers and society.
