Today, November 14, is World Usability Day. It celebrates that both user experience and design have become key factors for the digital transformation of companies. Both parts allow products and services to bring real value to people's lives.

But what is usability?

The term usability is used mainly in the technological field and is related to the ease with which a user uses a website, an app, cell phone, etc. with which we interact regularly to achieve a particular purpose.

That is why the purpose of user experience design is to provide a better experience to people, which allows us to create a loyal relationship with the customer that lasts longer in time.

For this relationship to exist, it is necessary to look at a series of parameters, such as, for example:

  1. Ease of learning or Learnability: How users see the design at first glance and whether it is easy to understand.

2. Efficiency: How long it takes the user to perform the actions, depending on how the product works.

To be remembered or memorability: That the user, when using the product again, remembers the ease of use.

4. Efficiency: As a user has the facility to go back through the steps he has been following and resolve them if he has made a mistake.

5. Satisfaction: That the user has been satisfied with the easy and simple use of the product.

To evaluate these parameters, the best way to do it is to test with real users to see how they interact, their feedback and then make the corresponding changes to improve the experience.

Designing for the future we want

»Designing for the future we want» is the theme of this year's World Usability Day. It is inspired by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

World Usability Day was born as an initiative of the Association of Usability Professionals in 2005. But what is the point of celebrating this day? After all, it aims to make people aware of how important it is to design products or processes in everyday life to make them more practical and easier.

And in this way, make people's lives more accessible. In addition to promoting the importance of the human factor in technological development.

Usability in coworking

For technology companies, it is essential to test the products they are developing and evaluate what works and what does not. To do this, they conduct user tests, which allow them to anticipate the problems that their customers might have.

Being surrounded by a diverse community such as Aticco, makes it easier to find the perfect candidates for these tests. From designers and programmers, to profiles outside the digital world... Companies can choose according to the type of feedback they want to receive.

In addition, sharing experiences from the product design process can be very useful to learn from the mistakes that others have already made and be more agile in improving beta versions.

Happy World Usability Day!
