What a coworking space should have

When we look for a rental apartment, we go with a checklist of what we want it to have. That's normal, because our comfort depends on it. The same thing happens when we look for a workspace. It is also a space in which you will spend a considerable amount of time throughout the week and that is why you should have a checklist on what a coworking space should have.

Characteristics of a coworking space

In this blog post, we give you ideas of things that might be important to you and that you could include in your must have list.

Community

When you work in a coworking space, you have the opportunity to meet another entrepreneur or another company with whom to create synergies at any time. But, if, in addition, your coworking space is in charge of preparing activities and dynamics so that the members of the community share and connect with each other, the chances of success increase.

Being part of a talent community will allow you to create business opportunities, exchange experiences, and improve your networking. If your coworking space organizes sports activities, after-work events, or any other community event, don't miss the opportunity to participate.

Natural light

Natural light in the workspace is key to avoiding ailments such as eye strain or even stress. It is proven that working with daylight increases productivity, good mood, and well-being at work.

Make sure your coworking space has enough windows and exterior openings. But in addition, it is also important that they are open spaces through which light can pass. White walls will also improve the clarity of the space and allow natural light to be reflected better.

Concentration

In addition to natural light, it is important that you have a space where you can concentrate 100% and make your ideas a reality. The coworking space you choose must be designed to enhance productivity, which means it must be spacious and comfortable.

For this, it must be equipped with phone booths from where you can make your calls without disturbing the rest of the coworkers; and with meeting rooms to attend to your clients with privacy, even if you opt for teleworking

Terrace or patio

And connecting is as important as disconnecting. That's why coworking spaces should include areas designed for rest. In winter, perhaps a space with sofas and games is enough, but in other seasons you'll get more out of a good terrace or patio.

At Aticco Workspaces we have taken this into account from our beginnings and that is why we have spectacular terraces in most of our locations and in some we even have a coworking with a pool to take a dip between meetings when the temperature allows.

Nature

Whether on terraces and patios, or even indoors, it is important that coworking spaces include plants and elements of nature.

According to a study carried out by Sir Cary Cooper, Professor of Psychology and Organizational Health at the University of Lancaster, the well-being of workers increases up to 15% when their workplace recreates natural environments.

All included

Last but not least, so you can focus on your project and reach your goals, all-inclusive convenience will make a difference. In this case, it is not only what a coworking space should have but also what your membership should include.

Take a good look at what each space offers. Having everything included in your membership – high-speed connection, printers and scanners or whiteboards in the meeting rooms, for example – will make your day much easier.
