International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8, a month to recognize women's achievements and support the fight for equality. The role of women in the workplace continues to evolve, yet gender inequality is still very much present, affecting women, families and organizations. Women have not yet achieved equality in the workplace, despite being equally prepared and having the same skills as men. Proof of this are the statistics: the salary gap in Spain stands at more than 23%, and in addition, 64% of low-wage workers are women.
Many companies are beginning to implement equality policies focusing on aspects such as equal pay, non-discrimination in hiring, flexible schedules and part-time work. One of the keys to reducing the gap is to ensure a corporate culture based on gender equality and to recognize women's achievements by giving them opportunities.
From Aticco we want to join the support and celebrate the month of women with our cycle »Empowering women in the workplace», talks, Startup Talks and Aticco Learnings in order to disseminate and raise awareness of the importance of women in the workplace.
We will talk about the figure of women in the technology sector and the impact they have. We will also delve into the social change that has led to their evolution in the workplace, and what their development has implied in certain sectors dominated by men. We will have several women who will share their experience and talk about how diversity is the way to accelerate change.

The 'Women in tech' movement as an accelerator of social change
Reports indicate that today women in IT development professions represent only 20% of the total number of people working in the sector. In recent years there have been many initiatives linked to the 'Women in Tech' movement, which provide tools and visibility to these figures, and fight to reverse them. In this talk we will have Laura Fernández, CEO&Co-founder of AllWomen, one of the leaders of the 'Women in Tech' movement that started in Barcelona and is already spreading throughout Europe. We will know some success stories of women who have converted their non-tech profile to tech and how we can use technology to solve female problems.

STARTUP TALK March 11 6:00 p.m.
Female entrepreneurship in a man's world
According to data from Women Who Tech, only 3% of the businesses that start up with venture capital go to companies with women in positions of responsibility. What are the biggest challenges a woman faces when it comes to entrepreneurship? Is it easier for a woman to start up in one sector than in another? Is it true that women tend to start up in sectors that are more precarious or that generate less profit? If startups led by women have better results on average, why do they receive less funding from VCs?
In this talk we will have the experience of 4 women entrepreneurs from traditionally male sectors. Talia Bonmatí, founder of Dinbeat, Sara Serantes, Founder of Freshperts and Eli Abad, co-founding partner of Between Technology and mentor of the M2m program of the UPC and the NetMentora network. Moderating the table will be Taryn Andersen, CEO & Co-Founder of Impulse4women.

Gender equality in your organization
Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, it is one of the essential foundations for building a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world, which is why it is included in the agenda of the United Nations priorities for the coming years (SDG 5).
In this talk, Paloma Orte, consultant and teacher of sustainability and Agenda 2030 at 17Actions, will give us her point of view on what we can do to build the path that will allow us to achieve this goal. In addition, we will review some good practices of equity in organizations, and we will define 5 practical keys to align it with our reality and apply it in our day to day.
ATICCO LEARNING March 31 6:00 p.m.
How to communicate in an inclusive and non-sexist manner
The words we choose to communicate matter. Many people are trying to make a change towards non-sexist communication, but this implies a change of habit, a process of learning and unlearning all the expressions we have heard since we were children.
In this talk, Ana López Ramos, psychologist specialized in Organizations and Human Resources and currently an Equality Agent at Amaltea Consultoría, presents language as a tool for social change. We will talk about how sexist language causes the invisibilization and discrediting of women, and how we can replace it with inclusive alternatives. We will also delve into techniques for working with inclusive language in the workplace.
