During the month of March, Aticco has organized a series of events on the role of women in different sectors. The Startup Talks, organized together with Upbizor, this month have revolved around the state of the art of gender equality in different industries such as blockchain; or the situation of women in gaming.
The first of the lectures was entitled Let's play! Women in the Gaming sector and was attended by four women who are dedicated to the exciting world of video games and eSports from different fields.
These were:
- María Díez Huerta: Head of Production at XR Games.
- Ana Oliveras Daví: CEO of Squarebox.
- Paola Macena: HR Mannagement at TinyBytes Games.
- Elisa Cantamessa: Associate Product Manager at Product Madness.
The objective of this round table was to address the role of women in the video game industry, not so much as consumers but as workers. within the videogame industry not so much as a consumer but as a worker.
In the debate, which was moderated by Judit Tur, a freelance translator specialized in videogames, several topics were proposed, such as the need for referents in the industry; the different business cultures and types of leadership; the famous and tedious imposter syndrome; quotas and glass ceilings.
From Aticco, we want to make visible the voices of women in gaming and publicize the various initiatives that exist to promote equality in this industry because as the moderator Judit Tur concluded:
"Things don't just change with time, they change with initiatives."
