How coworking responds to the demand for personalized work experiences

The stagnation of coworking

However, in the years following the pandemic, the sector not only stagnated, but many of the large service providers lost a large number of customers worldwide, with some even filing for bankruptcy after several years of declining revenues.

It was the response to a series of factors that included the mandatory return to the office, increased operating costs, changes in the regulation of this type of business, and even difficulties for customers in implementing decentralized work systems.

Although growth has not come to a complete halt, it is experiencing stagnation that seemed impossible just a few years ago.

Personalization and perceived value

Faced with this complex situation, the main representatives of the sector have begun to develop alternative strategies that not only allow for cost savings, but also ensure that customers remain "loyal, " avoiding having to deal with constant turnover of companies and remote workers.

To that end, we have focused primarily on increasing perceived value through personalization, providing experiences that specifically adhere to the needs of each company. This can range from customized requests based on specific goals to following guidelines aligned with the company's culture.

For example, many of us work directly with the client to create personalized schedules for workers, implement mobility models, applying systems for measuring productivity, reserving conference rooms in advance, including decor with the company's brand image, and even marketing products based on the specific needs of workers.

Additional improvements

Coworking centers are also investing more and more in general improvements that provide an experience much more in line with the investment made by customers. The main ones include additional security measures such as video surveillance and access control, high-speed internet, private spaces, private parking, among others.

Many of us are adopting much more modern trends and practices, including the use of alternative energies, selecting recycled furniture to reduce our carbon footprint, and even creating much "greener" workspaces to help with emotional problems such as burnout.

The future of the industry

The changes currently sweeping through the coworking world make it difficult to determine exactly where the model is headed. However, this focus on personalization makes it clear that one of the main objectives will be customer retention, meaning that promoting the experience will be much more important than promoting the service.

The creation of much more loyal communities, benefits focused on renting "mobile" spaces, and the expansion of companies into "hyperlocalized" markets will be some of the strategies to ensure our profitability in an uncertain market.

Some of us will also implement tools such as artificial intelligence and machine learning to provide personalized customer service, addressing the concerns of prospects and customers as quickly as possible. Others will even adopt technologies such as augmented reality to facilitate the promotion of spaces.

While coworking will suffer in countries where labor policies mainly favor employers, in nations that focus more on workers' rights, it will continue to increase its profitability throughout the decade.

Building customer loyalty during times of expansion

Retention as a strategy

When we are starting the growth curve and internally planning the strategy for how we are going to approach it, we tend to see how the focus is placed on customer acquisition, product improvements, and team building.

In this list of must-haves, retention is no longer a result but a key business strategy. Committing to a real balance between acquisition and retention (50/50) reflects an internal paradigm shift towards more sustainable growth. Maintaining MRR is essential to ensuring business stability while we invest in expansion. Without a solid recurring revenue base, growth loses traction and predictability.

Transferring reasons

Scaling a business involves reworking processes, introducing changes, and gaining efficiency, but it also means taking on the risk of impacting the customer experience if the focus is not kept clear. That is why communicating the reasons for change is as important as executing the change itself.

The customer experience during a transformation should be treated with the same care as an onboarding or loyalty strategy.

Sometimes we think that not communicating until everything is perfect is the ideal way to avoid creating false expectations or uncomfortable conversations, but even then we may not be able to avoid them. Simply putting on the table that changes are happening because they make sense for the business and, above all, because they add value for existing customers, is key to not losing the connection during this transition.

Communicating what is changing, why it is changing, and what the customer gains reinforces trust and reduces friction. Transparency—as far as possible—and consistency in discourse are key to involving the customer in the process. This requires strong internal coordination between teams and aligned messages. All of this occurs while the organization is undergoing its own process of change, often marked by complexity and chaos. In this context, clear and proactive communication becomes a strategic pillar for sustaining customer relationships during expansion.

Metrics that will ensure we don't lose focus

To stay focused during expansion, it is essential to rely on metrics that ensure stability and long-term vision. MRR allows you to understand whether growth is real or only apparent, while LTV justifies the investment: growth only makes sense if the value of the customer exceeds the cost of acquiring and retaining them.

In this context, churn takes on special relevance, as small leaks can neutralize the impact of new sales and jeopardize scalability. During growth phases, high churn acts as a silent brake: it forces you to run faster just to stay in the same place.

Indicators such as NRR show whether the current base is growing on its own, an unmistakable sign of a healthy model, while experience metrics such as NPS help anticipate risks before they translate into cancellations. Retention costs less than acquisition, protects MRR, and provides financial predictability, which is critical in times of investment and change. That's why retention must become the cornerstone of healthy scalability and the criterion that guides product, process, and technology decisions as the business grows.

A coworking that moves with you: Mobility Program of Aticco

Three cities, one coworking

Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia are not just destinations: they are part of your new routine. Imagine working on Monday from the financial heart of Madrid, making a video call from a terrace overlooking the sea in Barcelona on Wednesday, and ending the week at an event with startups in Valencia. With your Aticco membership, all that is possible. There are no extra costs, just extra possibilities.

The city becomes your work map

It's not just about changing cities. Sometimes moving neighborhoods also changes your day. Maybe in the morning you have an important meeting with a client and you want to make it easy for him: you invite him to a meeting room in the Aticco closest to him. Or in the afternoon you look for a more creative environment to disconnect and reconnect with new ideas.

Each Aticco center has its own character. At Aticco MEDa swimming pool awaits you for a break in the sun. Catedral surprises with an old theater converted into a place of inspiration. Urquinaona is synonymous with afterworks where anything can happen. At Bogatellevents beat to the rhythm of the creative ecosystem. No matter which one you choose: in all of them you will find design, community and experiences that elevate your day to day.

A community that grows with you

Changing space also means meeting new people. And that, in the professional world, is gold. Every time you open your laptop in a new Aticco, you also open the door to new connections, ideas and opportunities. From breakfasts with entrepreneurs to workshops, trainings or networking dynamics. networking, the community multiplies when you move.

South Summit 2025: The ecosystem meets and Aticco couldn't miss it!

A stand with impact (and aim)

From the very first moment, stand 108 became a meeting point. There we welcomed entrepreneurs, investors, curious onlookers and acquaintances of the company. Some of them came with their aim trained: they wanted to try their luck on our target. The prize? Two free months of coworking in Madrid. The consolation prize? A Day Passwhich is not bad either.

But the important thing was not to hit the target, but what happened between shots: conversations, laughter, discoveries and a great desire to keep in touch.

We also had the pleasure of having Miwicoworkers in Madrid and regular partners of our events. They were present throughout the fair, sharing their products and energy both at the booth and at the party.

The Place Goes South: the after-party that has become a tradition

We knew that after an intense day at the fair, the body was asking for a different kind of networking. Something more relaxed, with less pitch and more toasts. So we organized what we do best: an after party.

More than 400 people filled the space with live music, DJ, something tasty to eat, beer in hand and many conversations that started as "hello" and ended as future projects. An authentic, relaxed and very Aticco atmosphere.

During the evening, there was also room for content: Adrian Escabias presented an exclusive presentation of a new investment opportunity from Funding Placewith Mariano Najles Mariano NajlesCEO of Las Munsone of those startups that do things with purpose (and with empanadas, which always adds up).

What we take away

South Summit 2025 left us with more than just contacts and cards: it reminded us of the value of being present, of unhurried sharing and of creating spaces where connections come naturally.

And none of this would have been possible without those who make it happen:
Thanks to Aktion Legal Partnersfor joining us as main partner in this edition, and to Tbig Finance y Zubi Groupfor joining us with strength and vision.
Thanks also to all the people who stopped by our booth, came to play, took a Miwi, had a conversation, or just came by to say hello.

See you next time.
And if you were left wanting more, you know where to find us.

Success Stories: HelloFresh and the perfect recipe for scaling up

What is HelloFresh?

HelloFresh is a meal delivery service that delivers easy-to-follow recipes and fresh, well-measured, ready-to-cook ingredients. Convenience, taste and efficiency, all in one box. And behind that proposition is a clear mission.

"We are launching HelloFresh in 2022 and our mission is to change the way people eat for good.", Arnaud tells us.

The ideal space for an expanding team

Like any ambitious startup, HelloFresh needed more than an office: they were looking for an environment that would grow with them and help them maintain their essence. "I remember when we were looking for office space, we needed a space that was inspiring, flexible and fostered collaboration... and Aticco had all of that."

And when the space adapts to your rhythms, everything flows better. At Aticco, HelloFresh has found an office an office customized to their needsthat has evolved with them without friction.

"Aticco has been instrumental in our expansion. As we scale, we need more space, and Aticco allowed us to grow and move offices very easily, without major distractions."

One detail we love: the product team has a kitchen within a two-minute walk from the office. a two-minute walk from the office.. "It's crucial because it's part of what we offer to our clients", says Arnaud. That closeness between idea and action is part of what makes HelloFresh work so well ... and it couldn't happen without a flexible, well-thought-out environment.

The power of simplifying people's lives

"One of the keys to HelloFresh's success is that we offer convenient solutions for families who don't have time, neither to think of new recipes, nor to plan grocery shopping, nor to go grocery shopping."

And it's not just about launching a product and that's it. Active listening is part of the process: "We use a lot of customer feedback, and that helps us to constantly improve the product.."

An office that is lived in, not just used

Beyond the physical space, for HelloFresh, the energy you breathe matters too. "Aticco s environment fosters creativity, teamwork, collaboration... there are plenty of events, amenities and networking opportunities that make it a great place to be. The team really enjoys coming to the office."

Simply put, it's a place where people want to be. And when an office feels like yours - because you can tailor it to your size, your routines and your culture - it becomes a driver, not a hindrance.

What's next: more flavor, more customization

"We want to be the preferred choice for Spanish consumers. We want to change the way people eat in this country. And to achieve that, we're certainly going to continue to offer more convenience and more product customization."

And at Aticco, we are happy to be accompanying companies that, like HelloFresh, are cooking the future in their own way... in offices made to measure.

Are you looking for an office that grows with you? Discover our spaces and join a community where every company has its place... and adapts it to its perfect recipe.

Investing is not just putting money in: it is building the future.

In 2015 I started investing in startups. I have founded five companies -one sold, two closed, two active- and I have invested in more than 50 startups, both personally and through the investment vehicles I co-lead.
I've learned - with hard work, and also with joy - that the best investment is not always in Excel, but in people, timing and vision.

Today, from Aticco and Funding Place, I accompany entrepreneurs who are building the future, and I help more people to be part of that journey: beautiful, convoluted... and full of meaning.

Why is now a good time to invest in startups?

The last two years have been a reality check. Gone is the party of exorbitant valuations and unsubstantiated FOMO-deals. And that's a good thing.
Now there is more criteria, more questions, more focus on execution. And on selling.

And yet, innovation does not stop. In fact, it has intensified with AI.

What are we (down-to-earth investors) looking for?

In every project we look for what does not fit in a PowerPoint:

  • Founders dedicated full time, with experience in their sector.
  • Scalable and capital efficient business models.
  • First real traction indicators.
  • A clear vision... and a plan to carry it out.

And above all: people. Because in the end, startups are driven by people with commitment, ethics and resilience.

Investment is no longer just a matter of the few

Until recently, investing in startups was a privilege reserved for funds and high net worth individuals. Today, with platforms like Funding Place, you can start with just €2,000 and co-invest in real opportunities, validated by a committee that has managed more than €150 million in investments.

And you don't just put money in: you join a community that connects investors, founders and professionals from different sectors and industries.

To invest is to commit

At Aticco , we don't just look for economic return. We are looking for impact. That's why:

  • We help projects prepare for growth.
  • We support entrepreneurs.
  • We create spaces - face-to-face and digital - for connections to happen.

I have been building in the startup world for 10 years. It hasn't always been easy. But it has been very worthwhile.
Because when you invest with head and heart, you're not just looking for profitability.
You're looking to be part of something that makes sense to you.

I don't know if we will make history.
But we will have a good time.

Are you in?
